Obesity is not just about soft drinks!

OK lets tax soft drinks, lets say that sweet drinks are to blame and if we tax soft drinks people will buy less.

So you say to an addict "I will make you pay more for your fix. "  It doesn't work.  Tobacco still costs the NHS billions of pounds per year despite being very expensive now.

A soft drink tax will bring in more money for the NHS and make absolutely no difference to the consumption of soft drinks, so everybody wil win

Except the food addict of course.

But food addicts don't want to win their battle with food because addiction to food  has nothing to do with food and everything to do with emotional pain.

One woman drank herself to death with coca cola - an addict like her won't care what it costs to get her fix, any more then a heroin addict would.

The UK government can prop up the NHS with a soft drink tax if they like,  but food addicts will continue to die.
